Campaigning is an important aspect of our work here at Revitalise Towers, as it enables us to shine a light on the lives of disabled people and their carers, who in turn are able to voice their opinions on a variety of issues that matter to them. Our final campaign of the year, ‘A Revitalise Christmas Carol’ is all about exploring how the lives of disabled people and carers have changed over the years, and what this means for them.
In recent years, we’ve conducted ample research into a variety of topics surrounding unpaid carers and those they care for, that collectively have painted a very insightful picture of their everyday lives and the issues they face. For this reason, we are unrelenting in our quest to get the answers we need, to continue building upon the rich tapestry we have been able to craft, thanks to the contributions of disabled people and carers who have taken the time to participate in our surveys and tell us their stories. For those of you who haven’t already contributed, or simply wish to find out more, here’s the story behind our latest survey…
Inspired by the famous tale of ‘A Christmas Carol’ by Charles Dickens, we want to explore the lives of those we support and others just like them, looking at the past, the present and the future. Has quality of life got better or worse for disabled people and their carers in comparison to the past? What are the biggest challenges that present themselves today? And what about hopes and dreams for the future? These are just some of the questions we are hoping to get answers to and we would thoroughly appreciate it if you would tell us your thoughts in our Christmas survey. There is even the chance for you to share your thoughts with a journalist, should the opportunity arise. This is by no means compulsory and of course we would never volunteer you to speak to media unless you tell us you want to. (You can do so within the survey).
