Sometimes our staff members do things that make our hearts swell with pride, when they go above and beyond the small miracles they work every day at our centres. One such staff member is Netley’s Mark Page, who plans to take on the ‘Three Welsh Peaks’ challenge in June to raise money for Revitalise.
During this (literally) steep challenge, on 27 June Mark will climb, you’ve guessed it, not one, not two but an incredible three of Wales’ highest mountains – Snowdon, Cadair Idris and Pen Y Fan – all in 24 hours!
Mark is now busy training for the challenge and sent us this pic of him atop Pen Y Fan – so at least we know he can do that one!
Mark wants to raise money to improve the volunteer accommodation at Netley, since our volunteers do such a great job in helping make our holidays so memorable for our guests. Mark explained:
“The volunteers do a wonderful job in giving our guests a perfect holiday. These people give up their time for free and some of them stay at Netley for up to a year.
My aim is to try and refurbish their living accommodation and in particular give them some lovely new bathrooms.”
Mark’s fundraising total is £1,000 and to date he is nearly three quarters of the way there, with almost £750 pledged. One thing we’re all agreed on – it’s a re-Mark-able effort!
