Queen WeekNetley Waterside House

Queen Week

We will definitely rock you during this week, which is all about one of the all-time greatest rock bands.

Did you know that Queen sold over 150 million records and that Freddie Mercury wrote ‘Crazy Little Thing Called Love’ while in the bath? You will be an expert on everything about these music legends by the end of your break, which includes fantastic excursions on top of high energy themed evening entertainment. Don’t stop us now because our Queen week is always a kind of magic and our guests go home feeling like they are the champions!

As usual, you can also expect a fantastic range of excursions to local attractions to be available during this break.

Full excursion details and itineraries will be available soon.

We offer 24 hour on-call nursing and personal care, with fully qualified staff available on request all day, every day.

We also have volunteers who provide support and companionship, both at the centre and out on excursions to make sure every guest has a truly fulfilling break.

We can support people with over 150 disabilities including cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, stroke, spina bifida, brain damage, arthritis, Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease.

We understand that everybody’s care needs are different, so we develop a tailored care package for each disabled guest who comes through our doors. We ask some basic medical questions at the point of booking and request that your GP fills in a medical certificate stating your condition prior to your break. One of our nurses then phones you to discuss your needs and your personal care plan is confirmed on arrival at the centre.

In order to ensure as many people as possible can enjoy our breaks we fundraise to subsidise all our prices.

Nevertheless, we understand that funding a break may be difficult. There are a number of ways of making a Revitalise break more affordable. We hope the below information is useful, but if you have any questions you are very welcome to call us and discuss your needs on 0303 303 0145 (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm).

Local Authority funding

We can advise you on possible funding sources from your local authority.

Many local authorities fund a wide range of schemes to assist disabled people and carers. To find your local authority contact details, visit direct.gov.uk or look at their website. Most local authority websites have a 'Health and Social Care' section where you can find out what services are provided for disabled people and carers.

In addition, your local authority may be able to direct you to other services in your area which may be able to assist you.

External funding

We may be able to put you in touch with other charities and organisations who may be able to provide funding.

Direct grants

On a limited basis we can provide funding towards the cost of your break from Revitalise's Joan Brander Memorial Fund.  We want to ensure this fund reaches a wide group of people, so grants are unlikely to cover the full cost of a break. There may also be funding available from other organisations such as The Victoria Convalescent Trust and the Florence Nightingale Aid in Sickness Trust. Please contact Sharon Stevens for more information - 0303 303 0145.

Paying by instalments

If you are paying for your break yourself you can spread the cost over a period of months to help you budget.
