Friends group raises £2,000 for local respite holiday charity.
Loyal supporters the Friends of Revitalise Jubilee Lodge came together to host a Bridger Day on Friday 12 January, in support of the local respite holiday centre and its guests.
The occasion, now in its nineteenth year, was a great success, with guests enjoying entertainment and activities including a Bridge tournament, a Raffle and a stall selling a variety of books and preserves. A selection of homemade delights were also on offer for visitors to enjoy including flapjacks, sandwiches, coffee and cake.
The total raised by the Bridger Day currently stands at £2,000. All proceeds raised from the event will go towards supporting Revitalise Jubilee Lodge in Chigwell and its guests, which provides respite holidays for disabled people and carers from around the South East region and beyond.
Speaking of the occasion’s success, Chairman of the Friends of Jubilee Lodge, Ros Dover commented:
“I’m delighted to say that The Friends of Jubilee Lodge held a very successful Bridger Day, raising £2,000 which will go towards the cost of some much needed landscaping in the garden at the centre. I am so indebted to the local Bridge players who support us year after year, this being our 19th event, and to our helpers who make the day so successful.
“Every event the “Friends” organise throughout the year is for the benefit of Jubilee Lodge and the guests and carers it welcomes, so it is such a lovely feeling to see exactly where our support is making a difference within the local community.”
