Local community joins The Friends to support Revitalise Jubilee Lodge, raising £4,000 for the respite holiday centre and its guests.
The Friends of Jubilee Lodge, supported by the Rotary Club of Epping Forest, hosted their hugely popular Hog Roast once again on Sunday 09 September, in support of local respite holiday centre Revitalise Jubilee Lodge and its guests.
The annual event, in its thirteenth year, was hosted at Garnish Hall in Theydon Garnon.
In addition to the signature Hog Roast lunch, guests enjoyed live entertainment courtesy of local musicians Second Nature and a selection of stalls selling fresh produce and crafts. This year, there were also additional refreshments provided including a barbecue and a licensed bar.
The occasion was another resounding success with the total raised from this year’s event standing at £4,000. The collective total raised by the annual Hog Roasts now exceeds £40,000. All proceeds raised from the event will go towards supporting Revitalise Jubilee Lodge in Chigwell and its guests to enjoy respite holidays.
Speaking of the occasion’s success, Chairman of the Friends of Jubilee Lodge Ros Dover commented:
“We were overwhelmed by the support we received from the local community for our yearly Hog Roast event once again this weekend.
“I would like to give special thanks to Tim and Clare for their continued hospitality in allowing us to host our event in the wonderful setting of Garnish Hall. I would also like to say thank you to all of my fellow committee members for all their hard work in making this year’s Hog Roast so memorable for guests.
“A lovely time was had by all and I am grateful to each and every person who took the time to join us in support of Revitalise Jubilee Lodge and the disabled people and carers that it supports.”
