Volunteering at a Revitalise Centre is all about helping our guests get the most out of their break. Your colleagues and staff can be a part of this and benefit from gaining a wealth of skills and unique experiences in the process.

Of those people who have volunteered through our Team Volunteer Day’s:

  • 98% felt their team work improved
  • 93% felt an increase in self confidence
  • 91% felt communication skills improved

We are committed to offering our guests the freedom, choice and independence that is often lacking in their day-to-day lives. We simply cannot do this without the help of incredible volunteers.

As a Corporate Partner, there are lots of ways your staff can get involved and we can work together to design a volunteer framework that fits around what you want your staff to gain, whilst maximising the respite holiday experience of our guests. All our volunteers receive a short induction before volunteering to ensure the are confident and comfortable in their role.

Various ways to get involved

Every day, we help our guests enjoy excursions that range from shopping trips, boat trips, sight-seeing, ice skating and much more! Giving them the chance to get out and experience things they would not normally be able to is an essential part of the Revitalise experience, and we need social volunteers to help mobilise and offer companionship to those on the trips, supervised by a trained member of staff.

The volunteers from Yammer (Microsoft) made a huge impact on our guests. I can’t stress enough how important this social interaction is and it was so heart-warming to see all the smiles and laughter coming from everyone on the day.”

Sophie Katzi – Centre Manager, Jubilee Lodge.

With three sites in constant use, we are always in need of volunteers to help us maintain the fantastic settings for our guests, including hands-on team-building activities managing our extensive gardens, helping with painting and decorating, and even helping us to improve or create a new and welcoming area for our guests in the grounds.

“We got to interact with the guests, hearing from them how important Revitalise breaks are to them. It was a humbling experience and really made me appreciate the brilliant work Revitalise is doing.”

Corporate Volunteer from Virgin Media, June 2014

Every day, whilst some guests are on trips, others may choose to remain in the centre to relax and socialise. We assign a “games master” from our staff to coordinate the entertainment but are always open to input from external volunteers to continuously enrich the guest experience:

  • Organise a talk, demonstration of your products or presentation that our guests might find interesting and useful
  • Organise entertainment – if your staff have hidden talents they would like to share, consult with us on how we can use these to entertain our guests
  • Play games – bring along a Wii, electric cars, PlayStation – use your imagination we are always open to ideas!

Occasionally we will be looking for professional expertise and skills to support, train or mentor our staff or to help us develop or review a specific programme.  We value the expertise and insight that corporate professionals can bring to our charity.

We can work with you on exciting projects that can be integrated into your Graduate Programme. Graduates are invited to volunteer in our centres to learn about Revitalise. They are then split in teams who compete to raise funds for our charity.

The programme tests their creativity, communication and programme management skills, and encourages them to network internally to identify available resources and gain senior staff buy-in. Revitalise will work with them to review their communication material and ensure they accurately represent the charity.
