Friends Group raise over £3,000 for Jubilee Lodge
The Friends of Revitalise Jubilee Lodge, supported by Ongar Round Table and The Rotary Club of Epping Forest, hosted a hugely successful Hog Roast on Sunday 13 September for local charity Revitalise, which runs the Jubilee Lodge respite holiday centre in Chigwell.
The annual fundraising Hog Roast, which celebrated its 10th year, was hosted at Garnish Hall in Theydon Garnon, the home of Di Collins, and was attended by around 150 guests. Among those in attendance were Revitalise Trustee Linda Beaney and long-standing supporters from local construction family Olive and Stephen Higgins.
As well as a delicious Hog Roast lunch, the guests enjoyed entertainment and activities including music by ‘Second Nature,’ an art exhibition showcasing local talent and stalls selling cakes, handicrafts, produce and books.
The event was a brilliant success with the total raised in excess of £3,000. All the proceeds raised will go towards supporting Revitalise Jubilee Lodge, which provides respite holidays for disabled people and carers from across the Essex region and beyond.
Speaking of the event’s success, loyal supporter and Friend of Revitalise Jubilee Lodge Ros Dover commented:
“What a wonderful day we’ve had at this year’s Hog Roast. When we first organised this event 10 years ago we never dreamt that it would still be going strong after all these years!
“For the past decade we’ve had amazing support from fellow locals, many of whom have returned year after year, and have always been so receptive of our efforts to raise money in support of Revitalise Jubilee Lodge and its guests. I can’t thank you enough!”
