With the start of a brand new year came the beginning of a fresh chapter for our charity.  When the time came to Revitalise our name, we wanted to bring with it even greater opportunities for our guests to try something new.

That’s why we’ve introduced a marvellous selection of new themed holidays for 2015 including the fantastic ‘Flashback 80s’ week that proved to be a great hit with guests at our Sandpipers respite holiday centre recently.

While with us, our guests were able to reminisce about all that made the 80s great (yes, that does include big hair and legwarmers!) and the Flashback 80s fever didn’t end there. Guests were also able to indulge in a little retro gaming time courtesy of Pac-man and there was even an ‘iconic 80s movies’ themed menu, offering a whole host of motion picture inspired delectable delights, including an aptly titled ‘Souperman’ starter!

If that wasn’t enough, entertainment reached fever-pitch on the evening of Friday 13th February, when former Brother Beyond frontman Nathan Moore, who also recently auditioned for BBC One’s ‘The Voice,’ visited Sandpipers to  take centre stage,  performing a selection of the bands greatest hits including, The Harder I Try, Be My Twin and Can You Keep a Secret?

It wasn’t just our guests who enjoyed the chance to revel in ‘Flashback 80s’ fever either, with Brother Beyond’s Nathan commenting:

“It was such a joy to perform some of my favourite songs from the Brother Beyond back catalogue for the guests; they gave me a fantastic reception. The 80s were really good to me and I hope my set helped rekindle some cherished memories for them too. I’d love to do it again.” Many thanks to Nathan for helping us to make it a night to remember!

If you love this, then why not pop over to our Facebook page where you can keep up to date with all the latest activity from across our centres? Oh, and if you like the sound  of our ‘Flashback 80s’ week, you may also enjoy  some of our other music inspired weeks that feature everything from ‘Country & Western’ to ‘Music Legends ’ and there’s even the chance to rock around the Christmas Tree at our ‘Glam Rock Christmas’ week!
