In honour of International Women’s Day, we have gathered stories of 5 inspirational women that have all made a real impact to Revitalise.

Joan Brander MBE

Founding Trustee Joan Brander MBE realised over 50 years ago in 1963 that disabled people and their families were in desperate need of support. Joan’s vision helped develop our accessible short breaks that reflect the essence of freedom and choice.

Pauline Price

Pauline is a regular guest at Jubilee Lodge and has cared for her mother Lola for 10 years.

“Other people inspire me everyday. I look at those that are unwell and cannot care for themselves, admire how they get on with their lives, and appreciate their strong mind. You have to be positive and make the most of each day.”

Mindy Sawhney

Mindy Sawhney joined our Board of Trustees in 2003, and became Chairman in September 2010.

“Every time I talk to one of our guests I am inspired by the difference Revitalise makes to the lives of disabled people and carers.”

Shirley Salzedo

My greatest joy was graduating as a music teacher, as teaching is a way of life which shows others how to live, and even though I now teach the piano and music from my disabled wheelchair, whatever life throws at you, there is always Hope.

Anne McConnell

Anne McConnell MBE has worked tirelessly for over 50 years helping to support Revitalise in their fundraising efforts alongside the Friends of Jubilee Lodge. Anne’s enthusiasm and energy knows no bounds and is an inspiration to us all.
