Volunteers are incredibly important to us. They not only get the party started and keep it going, but they offer an invaluable experience for our guests, a helping hand and friendship like no other. Yaz, a long-term volunteer who spends her time at Jubilee Lodge in Chigwell, recently spent Halloween with our guests and relays her experience below.
“Party nights always stand out here at Revitalise. This one more so than others. It’s Halloween!
One of the greatest moments volunteers share with guests is the party nights, when we see the connections we’ve made, the bonds we’ve built and friendships developed over the past week. This night is where all the pictures are taken, where all the laughs occur but also where all the tears form knowing it’s time to say goodbye to the guests.
As a volunteer at Jubilee Lodge, it’s amazing to see the fun and excitement volunteers bring for guests who spend their week-long holiday here. My Halloween was spent carving pumpkins, painting guests’ faces in an attempt to look terrifying, getting involved in Halloween activities and getting to see some of the guests’ party moves and tricks. It was by far the best Halloween I have experienced. Being able to spend this time with some amazing people and share such valuable moments with them has stood out the most and is why I am a regular volunteer here at Revitalise.”
