Ladies launch new minibus their donation helped purchase
Jubilee Lodge welcomed six ladies from the Abridge Ladies Golf Group on Friday 21 August, to receive a cheque for £23,000 raised by the Ladies’ Charity Golf Day on 30 June.
The Ladies also helped Revitalise officially launch a brand new minibus which the centre was able to purchase with the funds raised by the Golf Day.
The Abridge Ladies – Lesley Allsuch, Marion Grant, Pam Levine, Alison Levy, Melanie Shlosberg and Ros Valens – were welcomed by Revitalise CEO Chris Simmonds and Trustee Linda Beaney, along with Jubilee Lodge Manager Jennifer Hamilton-Smith and guests and volunteers from the centre.
Revitalise CEO Chris Simmonds commented:
“On behalf of everyone at Revitalise I want to thank the lady golfers of Abridge for such an astonishingly generous donation. As far as we’re concerned you’ve scored a hole in one with this fantastic gesture!
“The money you and your colleagues raised enabled us to purchase and get this new minibus in service much sooner than we anticipated and it is now helping us give our guests truly memorable holiday experiences.
“Long may your support of our vital work continue!”
Melanie Shlosberg, Chair of the Abridge Ladies Golf Group, added:
“It is an incredible achievement for such a small group of ladies to have put on such a fantastic golf day at Abridge and to have had the support to raise this amount of money for such a worthwhile cause.
“I was very overwhelmed and humbled to be able to present this minibus on behalf of Abridge Golf Club Ladies Section to Revitalise at its Jubilee Lodge Centre in Chigwell knowing that it will bring so much pleasure to so many.”
Excursions are an important part of the Revitalise holiday experience. The new minibus joins the fleet of adapted vehicles at Jubilee Lodge, which enables the centre to take its guests on excursions to visitor attractions across the region in safety and comfort.
