Renowned glass expert appears at event organised in support of Chigwell respite holiday centre
Renowned glass expert Andy McConnell, featured on BBC One’s Antiques Roadshow, headlined a fundraising evening at Theydon Bois Village Hall on Friday 13 July in support of Revitalise Jubilee Lodge, a local respite holiday centre supporting disabled people and carers in Chigwell.
Organised by loyal supporters The Friends of Jubilee Lodge, Beyond The Roadshow was a fantastic occasion, during which guests enjoyed light refreshments before enjoying a talk given by Andy McConnell, after which he fielded questions from spectators and gave members of the audience the chance to have their glassware appraised.
The evening was a fabulous success with the total raised currently exceeding £2,000. All proceeds raised from the event will go towards supporting Revitalise Jubilee Lodge and its guests.
Speaking of the evening’s success, Chair of The Friends of Revitalise Jubilee Lodge Ros Dover commented:
“I would like to say a huge thank you to all those who came along in support of our event on Friday evening. My special thanks go to Anne McConnell, a fellow member of The Friends of Jubilee Lodge committee, for helping to organise such a wonderful event and to her son Andy, for helping us to make the occasion a success.
“I am delighted that we have been able to raise over £2,100 for Revitalise Jubilee Lodge in Chigwell and I know I speak on behalf of everyone who is part of The Friends of Jubilee Lodge when I say that we are so grateful to members of the local community for their continued support of our work. It is a fantastic feeling to be able to come together in support of Revitalise Jubilee Lodge and to make a difference to the disabled people and carers that they welcome.”
