Respite holiday charity held official opening of new shop where proceeds will support disabled people and carers at Revitalise Netley Waterside House
Alan Knight MBE, Ambassador of Portsmouth Football Club, attended the opening of a new Revitalise charity shop in Wickham, Hampshire earlier today.
While present, Alan also helped with a ribbon cutting, by way of declaring the Revitalise Wickham charity shop officially open for business, and in the spirit of the festive season, Father Christmas made an appearance too.
The occasion that was organised by Andrew Pallister Head of Retail at Revitalise, celebrated the opening of the new charity shop, the latest addition to a number of charity shops operated by the respite holiday charity.
Also in attendance at the event were Tim Prideaux, a Revitalise Vice President and Chair of the Revitalise Retail Committee, Jean-Roberts-Jones, expert friend and Chief Executive at One Community and Wickham charity shop staff, who were ready to give customers a warm welcome.
The Revitalise Wickham charity shop is a fresh and exciting opportunity for the charity to welcome local shoppers, with the layout of the shop having been carefully considered to promote the importance of accessibility, including greater width between clothing rails and hardwood flooring to ensure ease of access for wheelchair users.
The Wickham charity shop is Revitalise’s thirteenth charity shop, with each charity shop supporting disabled people and carers to enjoy respite holidays at Revitalise Netley Waterside House in Hampshire.
Speaking of the occasion’s success, Andrew Pallister, Head of Retail at Revitalise commented:
“We had a great time celebrating the opening of our Wickham charity shop and I would like to give special thanks to Alan for his attendance and support of the occasion here today.
“It is such a fantastic feeling to be a part of the local community, not only through the work that we do supporting disabled people and carers to enjoy respite holidays at Netley Waterside House but right here in our charity shops too. The donations that our customers so kindly give mean the world as they give the opportunity of a break to so many disabled people and carers who need them.”
Speaking of his experience of visiting the Revitalise Wickham charity shop, Alan Knight MBE said:
“It has been a real pleasure to come down today in support of the Revitalise Wickham charity shop opening. Revitalise does wonderful things to support disabled people and carers, some who live right here in Hampshire and I am only too pleased to have been a part of their celebrations.”
