Sarah Mancini and Ewa Sojka tackled the 10 mile run to raise funds for the disabled people and carers that the charity supports.
Sarah Mancini and Ewa Sojka from Hampshire completed the Simplyhealth Great South Run on Sunday 21 October on behalf of Revitalise, the respite holiday charity that they work for supporting disabled people and carers.
Sarah is Director of Operations and Care Quality Lead at Revitalise, while Ewa is General Manager at Revitalise Netley Waterside House, the charity’s respite holiday centre in Southampton.
Sarah and Ewa took on the 10 mile Simplyhealth Great South Run on Sunday wearing pink sunflower-like headdresses to represent the charity’s brand colour, as they ran through the iconic sights of Southsea and Portsmouth, including Portsmouth Historic Dockyard and Spinnaker Tower, before finishing on the seafront. They are now planning to take on the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon for Revitalise.
All proceeds raised by the pair will go towards supporting Revitalise, a charity which provides respite holidays for disabled people and carers from across the region at Netley Waterside House in Southampton and two other accessible holiday centres in Chigwell in Essex and Southport.
Speaking of her Simplyhealth Great South Run experience, Ewa commented:
“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed being here today; it is so rewarding to be part of an event like this where everyone comes together in support of so many amazing causes. I support our guests all year round to enjoy holidays with us in Southampton. Some of our guests even came down today to show their support for us and it was so lovely to see them smiling at us from the cheering point, it really gave me the extra boost I needed to cross the finish line.”
