Abridge Ladies Golfing Group stages spectacular fundraiser for Jubilee Lodge

The Abridge Ladies Golf Group raised an incredible £22,000 for local charity Revitalise from a Golf Day at Abridge Golf Club on Tuesday 30 June.

Around 160 people attended the event – among them Lady Sugar – which started off with a round of golf and culminated in a gourmet buffet luncheon, a grand prize draw and the presentation of the cheque.

Following the golf tournament – in which a Hole in One would have won a brand new Lexus car – the Abridge Ladies Golf Group unveiled their fundraising total and presented a cheque to special guest, Revitalise Trustee Linda Beaney.

The money was raised through ticket sales for the event, plus a grand prize draw and other fundraising initiatives. One novel fundraising idea employed by the organisers was to sell space in the event programme for supporters to give messages of support. Among the well-known local celebrities giving dedications were Richard Desmond, Olive Higgins and TOWIE’s Joey Essex.

In her speech of thanks, Revitalise Trustee Linda Beaney said:

“Thank you to Abridge Golf Club – You have been beyond incredible. Support from this community and others like you is absolutely invaluable for us. All the funds raised from today’s event will enable us to purchase an essential, fully accessible minibus for Jubilee Lodge, to help give our disabled guests a truly memorable holiday experience. Thank you.”
