On Sunday 26 July the nation celebrates National Paralympic Day. We will once again have the opportunity to witness Team GB’s Paralympians, including Hannah Cockroft and David ‘Weir-wolf’ Weir, competing for honours in London’s Olympic Stadium during Sunday’s televised Anniversary Games.

Revitalise’s centres will be joining in with the National Paralympic Day celebrations by staging accessible sports-themed fun days for our guests.

At Sandpipers there will be a day-long programme of accessible competitions and sporty fun, including Boccia, Table Tennis, Basketball and Swimming, also sport-based Wii Games and other accessible activities. The day will culminate fittingly with the awarding of medals and a traditional closing ceremony.

Down at Netley the activities include Boccia and ‘Water Dodge Ball’, a game specially devised for the day, while Jubilee lodge will join in on the act with a sporty fun day of its own.

What’s more, our fondly remembered video tribute to Team GB’s amazing Paralympians back in 2012 has been polished up, remixed and re-released so viewers can enjoy the euphoria of the London 2012 Paralympic Games all over again.

The video features unforgettable moments from the Games to the soundtrack of the Queen classic ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’ – our unofficial anthem – performed by guests, volunteers and staff at Sandpipers. It’s Revitalise’s tribute to the indomitable spirit of disabled people everywhere.
