Revitalise is the only provider of accessible respite holidays for disabled people needing 24-hour care in the UK.

Yesterday, the High Sheriff of Essex, Charlie Bishop, visited Revitalise holiday centre, Jubilee Lodge in Chigwell to present the Friends of Jubilee Lodge with the High Sheriff’s personal Award for volunteering. As well as presenting the award, the High Sheriff met some of the centre’s guests, was given a tour of the facilities and heard about the charity’s ambitious plans for the centre.

Ros Dover, who received the award on behalf of the friends, has been a volunteer at Revitalise’s Jubilee Lodge for over 30 years. Ros started by volunteering with a local ladies circle and has since been Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer who support the work at Jubilee Lodge with local fundraising events such as hog roasts and tennis tournaments.

The High Sheriff’s personal Award is a certificate issued personally by the High Sheriff as a token of appreciation of hard work and service that has made a valuable contribution to the life of the community and to the County of Essex.  It is particularly appropriate for a volunteer, employee or trustee at any level within an organisation who has ‘gone the extra mile’.

Ros Dover, recipient of the High Sheriff’s personal Award for volunteering said:

I am delighted to receive this award on behalf of all the dedicated Friends of Jubilee Lodge. I have been delighted to support its important work and life-changing initiatives almost since the centre began.”

Trevor Smith, General Manager of Jubilee Lodge said:

“Congratulations to our extraordinary volunteers and friends on receiving the High Sheriff personal award for volunteering. Your selflessness and dedication over many years have made a profound impact at Jubilee Lodge. This recognition is well-deserved. Thank you for inspiring us all with your compassion and service.”
