About Revitalise

We provide breaks for disabled adults. There is no upper age limit at any of our centres. The lower age limit is 18.

A Revitalise break is a unique combination of nursing care and a holiday.

Our centres are registered to provide residential nursing and/or personal care, but in a holiday-style environment. You will not have one-to-one care constantly, but staff can be called 24-hours a day via the integrated call systems in place throughout our centres.

Our breaks are themed to cater for all your holiday needs, so whether you want a relaxing time or something more fast-paced, the choice is yours.

Revitalise centres are used throughout the year and we strive to maintain the highest standards at all times.

Yes, all of our centres are registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC), who carry out regular inspections.

Learn more on the CQC website.

All bookings and related enquiries should be directed to our bookings office:

About your Stay

Yes, all fully or partially self-funding guests and carers should have protection against the many incidents that can spoil or affect a holiday.

Fees do apply if you are unable to travel for any reason, so we strongly recommend that you take out cancellation insurance.

Your room will be ready for you from 2pm on arrival day, but you are more than welcome to get to the centre any time from noon. If you arrive early, you can relax in the lounge with our staff, volunteers and other guests.

On your departure day, you must vacate your room by 10am and the centre by noon when new guests will start to arrive. Early arrival or late departure may be possible by prior arrangement with the centre.

Directions to centres and travel information is available on our Travel Advice page.

We do not provide transport to and from the centres, however we may be able to make special arrangements for group bookings.

Please call our Bookings Team on 0303 303 0145 if you require any additional information.

Arrival day at Revitalise is very exciting and can be very busy!

Once we have welcomed you to the centre, you will be asked for permission to take your photograph. This is then filed away with your records in order to help us make sure we provide your personal wishes are met.

We will then show you to your room and check the details of your care with you. This will include checking your medical certificate and daily living care plan to ensure that the details are up-to-date and correct.

The staff will also carry out a number of risk assessments with you to ensure that you can safely take part in the planned activities at the centre. As part of the check-in procedure, a nurse will also check for any pressure sores or other wounds, so that we can ensure we provide the appropriate care.

Medication can only be dispensed at the centre if it is in the original packaging with correct typewritten or printed labelling. This must include your name, substance, strength and frequency of medication. This must correspond with dose and administration times in the medical certificate and sufficient stocks must be provided to cover the period of the break you have booked.

Prescribed medication cannot be altered in any way (e.g. crushed). Unfortunately, any non-compliance with this may lead to future exclusion and will result in the centre having to re-order your medication following your arrival, which can lead to inconvenience for you.

Some centres cannot give ‘homely remedies’ including over-the-counter prescriptions such as paracetamol and vitamins. Please check with the centre beforehand.

If you need a special diet you must provide us with details prior to your arrival. Please inform the bookings team and detail your requirements on your booking form once you have made your booking.

Hotel Facilities

We have a laundry service available at both Jubilee Lodge and Sandpipers; should you wish to have your laundry washed during your stay it will be charged at the centre as £7.50 per bag. This covers the use of the facilities and staff.  Please note, essential laundry for care purposes will not be charged.

Yes, particularly if you need one for excursions away from the centre. Unfortunately we are unable to provide wheelchairs. We strongly suggest that you make any hire arrangements well in advance of your visit. In the interests of your own comfort and safety, we recommend electric wheelchair users bring a manual wheelchair as well.

Please ensure that your wheelchair is fitted with a seat belt and a power pack if you think our staff/volunteers may struggle to push you without one. Wheelchair seat belts must be worn when on excursions or if accompanied by our staff or volunteers. It’s best to bring your own seatbelt. Some may be available for purchase or hire at centre shops.

Guests are expected to transfer into a minibus seat from their wheelchair if they are able to do so without assistance. Due to Health and Safety regulations, there may be restrictions for some people using certain types of motorised scooters/power chairs on our vehicles. Powerchairs cannot be used on some excursions. Please contact the centre in advance to discuss mobility options.

We recommend that guests have headrests fitted to their wheelchairs in order to improve comfort and safety when travelling on Revitalise vehicles.

No, we have hoisting facilities at the centres. However, if you have specialist requirements for a hoist sling please call us on 0303 303 0145 prior to your arrival to discuss your needs.

Hotel Rules

We understand that many disabled people require assistance dogs to secure greater confidence and independence in their daily lives. Therefore, we welcome and host assistance dogs at our holiday centres.

Please note, where assistance from our team is required for dog walking, an additional daily fee of £10 is charged.

Please read our complete Guest Assistance Dogs Policy here.

Smoking or vaping is not permitted in Revitalise buildings or vehicles. It is only allowed in designated areas on our grounds. Please note that we do not expect our staff or volunteers to help with guests’ smoking needs.

Revitalise accepts no responsibility for lost or damaged property.

Finance & Funding

The prices we list are for the standard cost for a twin share room. Once you have discussed your care support needs with our team, we will be able to tell you which Care Support Package you will need, and the cost of that will be added to the holiday price to give the total.

We pride ourselves on quality hospitality in truly accessible surroundings. Expect the following:

  • Pre-assessment to make sure our care covers your individual needs
  • Expert care support, tailored to your needs and included as the Care Support Package element of the cost of your break
  • Evening entertainment, that may include live singers and comedians
  • Daytime, in-house activities such as arts and crafts, exercise classes, quizzes and bingo
  • Full board including cooked breakfasts, scrumptious lunches
    and three-course dinners
  • Excursions and day trips, however ticket and entry fees are not included
  • Towels and linen
  • Tea and coffee throughout the day
  • Staff and volunteers to assist you throughout your stay
  • Use of all facilities and amenities in the holiday centre
  • Travel/holiday/cancellation insurance
  • Transport to and from the centre
  • Wheelchairs — guests should bring their own or arrange to hire one prior to arrival
  • Entrance fees and any extra food or drink purchased on excursions
  • Additional mobility assistance and specialised equipment (e.g. hoists and airflow mattresses, which are available for an extra fee)
  • Additional mealtime support, available for an extra fee

You will need money for entrance fees to local attractions and for the bar and gift shop. Most guests bring around £75.

We know that there are many barriers to accessing a respite break and that affordability can sometimes be one. We’re very keen to help, whether it’s to point you in the right direction for funding or even provide financial support ourselves. We can:

  • Provide information on possible funding sources from your local authority
  • Put you in touch with other charities who may be able to provide funding
  • Offer a direct grant towards the cost of your break from Revitalise’s Joan Brander Memorial Fund or the Revitalise Support Fund (these funds are limited, so grants are unlikely to cover the full cost of a break).

If you or someone you know needs a Revitalise break but cannot afford it, please call us on 0303 303 0145.

Let us know and provide contact details for your funding authority when making your booking.

We require a deposit of £180 per person, per break booked, and this payment is made at the time of booking.

The remainder of your balance can be paid in instalments provided the full amount has been settled six weeks before the start date of your break.
