*An update on Netley Waterside House – June 2021*
Waterside House has been providing breaks since 1990. The building is now in need of significant modernisation, but our plans are more ambitious than that. Waterside House, situated overlooking Southampton Water in beautiful grounds, is a site of the most incredible potential. So, it is our intention to expand the centre from 31 rooms to 60-70 rooms, creating a centre of excellence in accessible design and care support for people with disabilities including innovative technological development.
As this project is so ambitious in meeting the longer-term needs of more people, we do not think it will be possible for us to run the centre for holidays or care during the refurbishment project. Therefore we intend to close at the end of July 2021 and begin building work later in the year with a target reopening date of late 2022 / early 2023, all going well.
Why Netley?
From its stunning, tranquil location, Netley Waterside House commands spectacular views over Southampton Water, with direct access right down to the waterside through the centre’s beautifully landscaped sensory gardens.
Not only is it an ideal spot for those who enjoy sunsets, fresh air and peace and quiet, but it is also the perfect base from which to explore the rich maritime tradition and world-class visitor attractions of the historic South Coast region.
