Our Local Charity Shops

Our local charity shops help to support our vital work to provide disabled people and their carers with vital respite breaks. Aside from raising money, each of our charity shops plays a major role in recycling.

Volunteer in our shops

Volunteering at one of our charity shops is a great way to support our work and get work experience, while gaining valuable retail and communication skills. You’ll also meet new people, boost your confidence and give something back to your local community!

Our online charity shop

Our eBay store specialises in unique donated goods, including vintage, antique and collectible items. Through our online shop, we offer a postal service, as well as click-and-collect from our Fair Oak Shop.

How our Shops work

All our items are donated by our supporters in the local community and are processed in store. Our team will sort donations and inspect to ensure all items are clean and have everything intact. The garments are then steamed to clean and freshen up before being priced and ready for the shop floor.

Items we welcome:

Most good condition items, including:

  • Clothes and shoes
  • Bags, belts and jewellery
  • Books and CDs
  • Ornaments
  • Toys (with CE mark only)
  • Other household goods

Items we unfortunately cannot accept

  • Electrical goods (because of safety regulations)
  • Safety products (such as crash helmets, baby car seats and riding hats), because we have no way of knowing if they have ever been involved in an accident, which would compromise their effectiveness
  • Large items of furniture (due to lack of storage and display space)
  • Toys without a CE mark

Collection

We cannot collect your goods, but we are delighted to accept donated goods delivered to each of our shops during opening hours.

Donate Today

How your donation supports Revitalise

Revitalise spends over £8.3 million a year to ensure high quality care for disabled guests at our centres, yet we receive no central government funding. We have to make every penny count and we urgently need the support and generosity of our fundraisers.

Your donation to our charity shops will help raise funds that go toward (but not limited to):

  • Expert care support
  • Subsidising the cost of running a specialist Alzheimer’s week
  • Funding guests who could not otherwise afford a break
  • Funding a guest’s excursion to the theatre

However you support us — whether you raise a small amount from a community cake sale to larger amounts from challenge events, leaving a legacy or a donation in memory of a loved one — we are immensely grateful for your support.

Gift Aid

Make your gift worth 25% more without giving anything more

If you are considering donating to Revitalise, and you are a UK tax payer, you can substantially increase the value of your gift, and benefit our work even more. A Gift Aid Declaration allows us to reclaim tax you have already paid, increasing the value of your gift by 25p for every pound.
